Shida’s Treats collects only the information reasonably needed to review requests, prepare orders, arrange pickup or delivery, receive payment and communicate with customers.
Information we collect
When you submit an order or enquiry, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, event date, order selections, allergy information, design notes and other details you choose to provide.
The shopping bag uses your browser’s local storage to remember selected items on your device. This information remains on that device unless you clear it or successfully submit the order.
How we use information
We use customer information to review availability, prepare quotes and invoices, communicate about an order, create and deliver products, provide customer service, maintain business and accounting records, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.
Order and enquiry information will not be used for promotional emails unless you separately consent to receive them.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to operate parts of the ordering process. Website enquiries are transmitted through Formspree. Invoices and payments are processed through Square. Website hosting providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the site.
Payment card information is entered directly into Square’s payment system and is not collected or stored by this website. Service providers handle information according to their own privacy terms and may process data outside Ontario or Canada.
Optional analytics cookies
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, product interest and successful order or enquiry submissions. Analytics may process device, browser and approximate location information outside Canada. We do not send your name, email, phone number, address, order dates or custom notes to Google Analytics. You can accept or decline analytics cookies and change your choice using Cookie preferences in the footer. Declining does not affect ordering. If you withdraw consent after accepting, refresh the page to stop the previously loaded tag; existing cookies can also be removed through your browser settings.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the website, process payments, fulfill an order or arrange delivery. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect customers, Shida’s Treats or others.
Retention and safeguards
Information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above and for applicable business, tax, insurance or legal requirements. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no email or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and access
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information held by Shida’s Treats, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements. You may also withdraw consent for optional uses of your information.
