An order request does not reserve your date. Your order is confirmed only after Shida’s Treats accepts the request, confirms availability and pricing, and receives the required payment or deposit.
Orders and pricing
Website prices are starting prices in Canadian dollars. Your final quote may change based on design complexity, specialty finishes, toppers, florals, serving requirements, delivery distance or other custom requests. Taxes, if applicable, will be shown on your invoice.
Please review your flavour, quantity, date and design notes carefully. We will confirm the final details before payment.
Payments and deposits
Standard treats
Standard treat orders must be paid in full to be confirmed.
Custom cakes, dessert tables and events
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due 14 calendar days before the event or pickup date. Bookings made within 14 days require full payment. Work will not begin and your date is not secured until the applicable payment is received.
Payments are completed through the Square invoice or payment link sent after your order is reviewed.
Changes, cancellations and date transfers
Requested changes are subject to availability and may affect pricing. Please request changes to standard orders at least 7 days before the required date and changes to cakes, dessert tables or event orders at least 14 days before the event.
Deposits are non-refundable because time and capacity are reserved for your order. If you cancel, amounts used for planning, ingredients, supplies, custom materials or work already completed are also non-refundable. When sufficient notice is provided, Shida’s Treats may, at its discretion and subject to availability, allow part of an eligible payment to be transferred once to a new date within six months. A date transfer is not guaranteed and new pricing may apply.
If Shida’s Treats must cancel and cannot offer a suitable replacement date, amounts paid for undelivered products or services will be refunded.
Pickup and delivery
Pickup is available by appointment in the Courtice area. Please arrive at the confirmed time and transport cakes and treats on a flat, cool surface. Once an order has been collected or delivered in good condition, the customer is responsible for safe transport, storage and handling.
- Local delivery up to 21 km: $15
- Extended delivery from 22–65 km: $45
- Beyond 65 km: starting at $60, subject to availability and final distance
Distances and fees are verified before invoicing. Delivery times are arranged within a window and may be affected by traffic, weather, venue access or other circumstances beyond our control. The customer is responsible for providing complete access, parking, buzzer and contact details.
Designs and presentation
Reference images are used as inspiration. Because every item is handmade, colours, placement and decorative details may vary slightly. Shida’s Treats will preserve the agreed overall style while maintaining creative discretion. Exact colour matches cannot be guaranteed across screens, printed materials, buttercream and chocolate.
Fresh flowers, fruit, toppers and other decorative elements may vary with season and availability. Reasonable substitutions of equal style or value may be made when necessary.
Allergens and food safety
Products are prepared in a kitchen that handles common allergens, including wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts and tree nuts. Cross-contact cannot be ruled out. Customers must disclose allergies before ordering. Shida’s Treats cannot guarantee an allergen-free product or environment.
Follow the storage and serving instructions provided with your order. Shida’s Treats is not responsible for deterioration or damage caused by improper transport, storage, heat, humidity, handling or display after pickup or completed delivery.
